Completely new to this

Helping a friend out with her board...We are both completely new to this...

Can someone tell me what I generally need to do to use a hack???

well you have to go to your usercp and put in your license info before you can download any hacks... afterwards i can help you with most anythign you would need... if you have any questions or such just drop me a private message... regards...

Okay...I think I've got that covered... This is one of the hacks that I was interested in...can you step-by-step me through it? ;)

okay sure np ;) welcome to vb.org first of :)

second you have to first upload the tpinstall.php to the admin folder and run that in your browser

ie ::

http://www.yourhome ... /forum/admin/tpinstall.php

that should alter the database :) then i'll continue once you confirm that thigns worked... regards...

btw make sure that you backup your thread table...

go to admin/backup.php you'll see a list of tables with yes no codes and just backup the thread table... ;)

Sorry but i have to go to class now ;\ but if you need any help im sure that one of the other hackers would be glad to help you out afterwards... i'll be back soon... if the first step goes fine then afterwards all you have to do is open the other two files in a word program and make the file changes to the vb files... it'll tell you specifically what line to find and where to add the changes... if you still need any assistance i can help you when i get back or you can just drop me a private message regards...

nah its all cool poloprincess... you have to first upload thes tpinstall.php into the admin folder...

if you use a upload prog(ws ftp) etc... simply just put this file into the admin directory with the other files... then use the same url that you would to access your admin cp... from there just your extension should look similiar to this...

http://www.... .... .../forum/admin/tpinstall.php

btw :: how did you install the forum then? just curious... and also make sure that your friend (the owner) adds your name to the list (for ppl under that license) ;) it just makes things easier...

okay first you ahve to add your info ip... host address... username... pass... etc to the ftp so you can connect to your site... then try and find the forum directory where the vb was uploaded to... regards...

My really good friend owns www.eclipseforums.org and he is the vbulletin wiz. He put the forums on my server etc. All I did was create the forums. I work in IT but damn it if this stuff doesnt just make me crazy! Is there vbulletin for dummies???? :)

Ok I want to install the Quick reply box on my forum and I looked at the hack and its instructions and Im still LOST! HELP! God I feel like an idiot but the code looks like Greek to me... I have never done any coding... anyone still awake that could help me?????
