Hi, Gang,

So, I've tried a number of chat solutions for my vB-powered web site, ranging from standalone java chats to IRC chat channels. I've looked through most of the hacks herein and I only seemed to find IRC chat channel integration and the occasional gem of a closed-system chat channel.

Basically, I'd like to implement a chat channel that is on a closed system, non-IRC - basically, one room, with no linkage to other rooms. I've seen phpMyChat, and some other php chat scripts, but they just don't seem to cut it or consume too many server resources.

What chat solution do you recommend I find?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Yes.

The only chats available (non Java and non IRC) are the web chats. I think you can get about 285 of them at hotscripts.com site.
However they are ugly, slow and kill your server due to refresh function.

Why does it have to be non Java? Java is ok, as long as it's closed. I'm looking for something similiar. Java, multi-room, but closed. Non-IRC
