Hi Folks,

I already own and run VBulletin here for my own 'hobby' site and am wondering if I can do something to help my boss out.

He's looking to get a 'database' of information on the internet, split into clickable text of each subject and seperated from there into seperate pages...

I know that VB (with heavily modified templates and by removing the permissions to post or register) would be able to do this for me (and give me the power and functions I love about VB), but he will of course not want the copyright text at the bottom of every page.

I'm therfore wondering if there is a more expensive? version of VB he can purchase which VB won't mind the copy being taken out of? Or as to whether some agreement could be made to allow this?

Thanks in advance!

Tim

Email sales@vbulletin.com they do allow you to pay to have the copyright removed, I have no idea how much though.

It is $600 to remove the copyright at the bottom. I already asked them.

no comment on the removal of the copyright... personally i'd rather leave it in... because thats like buying a full license 3x times... but i can understand the reasoning i just don't have the means to do such ;)

Is that 600 dollars on top of the license cost? And is that for all time even when upgrading to future versions? For the right situation, that's not a bad price at all.

Yeah on top of the licence cost. I would asume it would be vaild for upgrades aswell, but don't know for sure.

From what the emai said that I got back from vbulletin.com that $600 DOES NOT include the license fee BUT it does go for all your vbulletin forums. In other words if you have a license for 10 vbulletins then if you pay the $600 you can take the copyright off all 10 of the boards.

I believe the price varies on a case by case basis. There's no flat no copyright fee.

Unless they change just recently.

Unless they change just recently. Yes, that was my understanding.

Not everyone will get the same quote.

Some will be more, some will be less.
