In the admin CP there is an option called
"Timeout for Cookie:
This is the time in seconds that a user must remain inactive before the unread posts are reset to read."
I would like to disable this option, so basically the forum will stay as unread unless the user actually clicks the link to "Mark forum as read". I've missed moderating a lot of topics because I thought that I had read everything when I really hadn't.
One thing to mention, I noticed when I increased the value for this option to some absurdly high number (in order try to disable it myself) the Who's Online number of users skyrocketed. So apparently this setting is also used for the Who's online portion of the forum.
