View Full Version : Slide-in favourites (subscribed forums) on all vB pages - how did they do it?

www.gpforums.co.nz

I notice that on that above site, there's a box on the very left of the page, on every page, which contains all of your subscribed forums.

I don't need to know about the actual slide-in mechanics (I'm already aware of how the click-image-to-slide-in was done :)), just what code would've been used to show the users' 'favourite' forums (which are just the subscribed forums, renamed to 'favourites').

The only thing it shows is an On/Off image (new post/no new posts) and the link to the forum, for each of your subscribed/favourite forums.

Is this a relatively simple thing to do - by just, say, copy/pasting the code that's used to show your subscribed forums in your User CP? If that's the case, then would that work on all pages, and how would you get it to show only the forum title/link and on/off image?

Sorry if this post makes little sense, it's late at night and sleep is calling :cheeky:

Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance!

I just realised that I should've said that I wanted the code to be processed/placed in the header of the style. That way, it's shown on every page, and I already have a slide-in box but it doesn't contain what I want (Fav. Forums).

Where is the copyright of that forum?
It uses vbulletin 2.2.1

If it were my forum, why exactly would I be asking how they did something ;) ?

Hmn, you're right about the copyright thing, I'm not seeing any 'powered by' notice there. Tsk tsk, nobody would know it was vB if they weren't familiar with the software, pretty dodgy stuff I must say.

So, apart from realising that they've broken the rules, does anyone know what code to use :) ?
