odd prob

mysql works wonderfully untill i restart my system then i get this

Link-ID == false, connect failed
mysql error: Host 'localhost' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server

mysql error number: 1130

when i look in mysql there are no databases, not even the test one you get when you download it, it still retains the .ini but eveything else is gone. I somtimes get other errors but the constant is that whenever i go into mysql the databases arent there!

since this is one of your first posts i wont flame you, dont the only thing that should be in this forum is released hacks. You should goto www.vbulletin.com's forums and ask this in vb2 support.

and that error means your mysql isnt configed for that server. Ask your provider to do it. Can somone please close and move this?

Not sure if that was an attack at me or Sho, but it does clearly show on the forumdisplay what this forum is for:

Full release of hacks that you can use to add or take away portions of vBulletin. Includes beta hacks.

That seems pretty clear to me. Anyway, his question is answered fully over at vB.com and has been a sticky there for ages.

I think you're all being a little shortsighted.

This is obviously the wrong forum only when you come into the forums one way - but there's more than one way to get to this forum folks.

Example: When you go to vbulletin.org there's a list of hacks on the right, if you click one, it takes you straight into the thread - exactly where (in that case) do you see this forums description?

You never see it.

I find the reactions here (especially Vincent's) quite offensive and immature - without visitors a forum is NOTHING, every single one of them is as important as the next. They are you're site forums life-blood, you should treat them as importantly and with as much guidance as you can.

How long does it take to simply delete a thread? - That's all that this thread needs.

That is true, there is more than one way to get to this forum, but common sense, which most people have, tells you to look around before you start posting. Wouldn't you do that?

Secondy as a vB owner and someone who likly runs a forum, *should* be able to figure out which forum to post in and how to find them.

The only direct way to make a post in the full releases forum is via the forumdisplay, which clearly has an announcement:

Announcement: Read This First Before You Post a Hack

And there is no standard New Thread/Topic button, which suggests that this is a non-standard forum IMO.
