Is there a variant of an exisiting hack that would allow you to display the number of users over the past 24 hours as opposed to the showing how many visitors/users were online today.

Hi Xenon,

THanks for the prompt response, but i am not a user yet! Thats why i have posted it into the PRE-SALES area.

I dont need to see the code, i just need to know if its availalble and see it in action!

Is there anywhere i can see it in action without having to provide details i dont have yet?

Thanks,

if anyone is using this hack, please let me know.

Also, just to confirm, this will display the number of users over the past 24 hours which would basically mean it would display a fluctuating number depending on the visitors!

What is the difference?

displaying the number of users for today would always start from 0 at midnight and increment each time a new user comes online, where as the 24 hours option would display the number of users over the past 24 hours! hence it would never ever display 0 again onc e its started. It would also increment until reaching it maximun users over the past 24 hours and as time goes on, it would refresh every 15 minutes or so and display the refreshed number of users over the past 24 hours.

ie.displaying 24 hours period say from 9am Monday till 9am Tuesday, then 10 minutes later it would display the 24 hour period from 9:10am Monday till 9:10 am Tuesday.

Hope this clears things up!

I am sure its an unusual request!

It can be done, yes. The hack doesn't work like this, but it can changed to do.

thanks firefly,

Without any coding or hacking experience, would this be something that i could easily do or not.

Also, if i purchase the software now and then the upgrade comes out, will all the hacks still work, and will they need to be re installed??

Each upgrade will require you to install the hacks again, since you overwrite the hacked files. Hacks usually work when the upgrade is minor (for example, 2.2.1 to 2.2.2), but some may not.

would it be correct to assume that ppl, woul modify most hacks fr the newer version or do the hacks need to be requested to the latest version ie 2.2 to version 3??

Depends on the author. Most likely no since they won't have the time, have to learn how to vB3 works, or their hack already has similar functionality in vB3.

Hacks from most vB2 versions usually work in other vB2 versions, though, particurally vB2.2.x.
