What this does: Allows moderators/admins to bump a thread without adding a new post via the thread's dropdown administrator options list. Unlike the "sticky" option, bumped threads will remain at the top of the forum only until a new post is added.
Works in: vBulletin versions 2.0 through 2.2.6
Changes to original: I've added the following updates --
- Directions and template mods updated to work for versions 2.0 through 2.26. (Original directions were created for a late beta version of vB.)
- After bumping, you're now redirected to forumdisplay. (In the original, you were returned to the original thread, even though no change was made.)
- All instructions and code changes are now in one file. (In the original, you needed to unzip three different documents.)
Background: Kevin (Tubedogg) created this wonderful hack (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12568) back in March 2001. Since then there have been a few useful and necessary updates courtesy of members such as Arie and ThomasP, but we've had to read through the whole thread to find them.
To simplify things, I've added the changes and compiled the template & postings.php modifications into a single document. That's all I've done -- credit for hack and its updated elements goes to Kevin, Arie and ThomasP. :)
Enjoy!
