Okay, some background. We have lots of forums on our board: http://forum.hostnexus.com and we offer our members incentives to post and help other members out. It has worked very well.

But, half of the posts have been made in the Open Discussions forum where people are just shooting the breeze.

I would like posts made in this forum count against the grand total displayed on the index page, threads too. But I'd like posts in this forum not count towards people's personal post count.

That way, people are really rewarded for helping members out in the support areas and we are not giving away incentives for nothing.

I know I can do:

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Modify -> [edit] -> Count posts made in this forum towards user post counts? -> No

But I want posts to count towards the grand total and not added to personal post counts on this forum.

Can it be done and how?

Thanks!!!!

Why would you be so worried about the grand total?

I mean......if that's your highest worry, then re-think your plans

Jesus Christ, what an attitude. Just wanted to know if it could be done. Who are you to tell me to rethink my plans. I'll worry about our business model and you worry about about removing that cucumber from your botty.

Thanks for help mate, get yourself a decent personality for xmas.

I have found that by just doing:

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Modify -> [edit] -> Count posts made in this forum towards user post counts? -> No

Gives the effect I need. User post doesn't go up total forum count does. :)
