email activation cron script

It'd be nice if somone could write a script (to be run as cron) to remind people who haven't activated yet.

- If they registered 3 days ago and yet to activate - a polite activation reminder through email.
- If they registered 5 days ago and yet to activate - an activation reminder through email and notice that not activated accounts get deleted on regular basis.
- If they registered 8 days ago and yet to activate - email notice that if they don't activate their account within next two days their account will be deleted.
- If they registered 10 days ago and yet to activate - delete their account.

The script could be ran daily which will check all this and send paropriate emails. IMO something like that wouuld be great as I have to constantly manuallly empty the awaiting email activation group.

No, this has not been done yet so if you want to, go ahead..

But I want to remind you that vb3 comes with a software CRON feature which will VERY LIKELY include this hack either. And it's just a matter of time that it will be on the market. So if you intend to upgrade to vb3, I dont suggest losing time for the coding of such a hack. But if you'll stick to 2.2.x for a while or want to do a favour to other 2.2.x admins (like me), the hack can prove useful to many. :glasses:
