Hello,

After installing the poll hack and when I run makepolltables.php to make sure it's installed properly I received this error message:

Editing post table ...
There seems to have been a slight problem with the database. Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

By opening the source for this error page I found this :

--------------
Editing <i>post</i> table ...
<!-- Database error in vBulletin: Invalid SQL: ALTER TABLE post ADD pollid MEDIUMINT (8) UNSIGNED DEFAULT '0' not null
mysql error: Duplicate column name 'pollid'
mysql error number: 1060
Date: Monday 23rd of October 2000 10:14:51 PM
Script: /vb/makepolltables.php
Referer:
-->
---------------

And no I didn't receive any e-mail !!

How can I solve this problem??

sometimes it means you already have the tables installed!

Open makepolltables.php

first entry is:

echo "Editing <i>post</i> table ... ";
//$DB_site->query("ALTER TABLE post DROP pollid");
$DB_site->query("ALTER TABLE post ADD pollid MEDIUMINT (8) UNSIGNED DEFAULT '0' not null");

change

//$DB_site->query("ALTER TABLE post DROP pollid");

into

$DB_site->query("ALTER TABLE post DROP pollid");

this will delete the pollid column. Be warned, if you had polls before, they will die.

Your email message told you that the alter command had been denied. The error screen that pops up on your browser is a generic error screen given for all data base probs with vbulletin (I know I have seen that screen about 200 times in the last three weeks)
