Homepage and Email Buttons in Profile
Version 1.0 by Boofo

A very big "Thank you" goes out to Xenon for all of his help in steering me in the right direction and fixing my mistakes as I made them. :)

What this small hack does:

Instead of having text links in the getinfo template (for profile), you can now have image buttons for the "send private message", "email user" and "homepage" links. (I have moved all of these under the Contact User field in the profile view on my board). Also, if the user does not enter a homepage or has the email feature turned off, the buttons will not show up. They work the same way as the sendpm button works now. (You can edit your getinfo template to allow the buttons to go anywhere you choose.)

This hack has been tested on vBulletin 2.2.5.

Installation time: 2 minutes

This is my first attempt at any hack, so please bear with me. :)

(Screenshots are below in messges #3 and #4.)

Please don't forget to hit the install button if you decide to use this.

you should perhaps add a screenshot of your new User-Profile ;)

also i say, because you haven't mentioned it: the buttons can be found in a template, so its easy customable for all here.

:)

Once again, here to bail me out. :) Thanks, Xenon!

The following is a screenshot of how I have the buttons installed on my site in the Profile. This screenshot is with all 3 buttons enabled.

Thanks, guys! I know it isn't much, but if even one person can use it, then it was worth releasing. :)

I opened it back for you. I replied via email but it posted in another thread. Weird.

It doesn't show up in the memberlist either. Do you have it turned on?

That was the problem but I could have sworn that I enabled it when I installed the board.

The important thing is that you have it working now. :) Enjoy the hack.

Can someone please explain how to go about adding this part of the hack (I'm sure I'm just being stupid).

In the getinfo template:

Add this to wherever you want the three buttons to show up.
(I have mine in the Contact Info field.)

$userinfo[email] $userinfo[sendpm] $userinfo[homepage]

Thanks in advance,
