Anyone had this beofre with 2.2.6 and knows a fix for it? I have no errors, but it simply stays logged in when I click logout. :disappointed:

is it just you who can't logout, or every member on your board?
if it's just you try to delete all cookies manually

It could be just me, but deleting all the cokkies is quite inconveinient :(

normaly if its just you, there won't be a bug in the code.

just delete the cookies of your board, not really all ;)

Xenon, did you by any chance change the setting in admin CP that sets what domains the cookie is active on? If you did that, then vB won't be able to delete the old cookie.

It's a really nasty bug/feature, I had it happen to me with a live forum once. I never imagined it could have those consequences...users were kinda pissed.

huhh.. so I?m not the only one. I have this problem also and I found out it only appears if you?re using MS Internet Explorer. In Netscape everything is working proper.

Any suggestions what I could have done wrong ? The board is hacked with about 20 hacks and until the last two ones there was no problem.
I deinstalled the last two hacks but that hadn?t corrected this logout-problem..

(The cockie-handling for domain is not changed. That means, it?s turned off ;))

Should have used the search-engine first...

Xenon, try this : https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39992&highlight=logout .

Worked for me.

I have thought and I think if you set the cookie domain, it might be ok, havent had change to try it yet tho...

Now its my turn.

I had set (fiddled with) the cookie domain and couldn't log out, in fact every time I logged out I created a new "guest" on the board. Now I can log out, but I still have 10 phantom "guests" who won't leave. How can I delet these cookies? Where on the domain host would I find them??

thanks for your help

Matthew

What's your Cookie Timeout set to? The default is 900 seconds (15 minutes.) They will 'leave' once their sessions end.

Change the cookie domain back.

Then DELETE ALL COOKIES from your browser. A wrong domain creates a corrupt cookie, which keeps you logged in. Delete it, log in again and you will be fine.

Hi Guys,

I am experiencing this problem on multiple PC's. Surely the cookie couldnt be corrupted on all 3 machines?

Im using vb2.3.0.
