Hi

I admin run an EzBoard at http://www.socal-hockey.com

I am sick and tired of the security restrictions put on the admin - I have no rights at all to view any information about my members.

I am hoping that a switch to another BB software will allow me more control over the security. I read the entire manual and still have these questions:

1. Can I see every member's email address? For that matter, can I see the entire contents of the registration screen? Can I see their password too?

2. Can I reset their password if they forget it? Or, as a "punishment", can I change their password and make them contact me to get it back?

3. Can I force a private message on someone, as the admin? I suppose I could just email them - but the problem with my current board is that users get a bogus hotmail addy, then just use it to complete the registration, then dump it. I need a way to contact them to let them know that their behaviour must stop or they are history.

4. I noticed that I can make a few custom fields in the registration screen. Can I make those fields required? I am thinking of requiring some other piece of information such as phone number or team name (this is a hockey league).

5. Can the custom information be made only visible to the admin and not mods or other users?

Non - security related questions:

6. Since I have some user's and mods with many, many posts, can I preserve the number of posts by manually setting the number even though I they haven't posted that qty?

7. This one is probably a for sure NO! but why not ask!

Can I import my EzBoard??

Thanks everyone for helping out. I am pretty sure that vBulletin is the best product out their, but I need these features to take the next step. My EzBoard has 2,000,000 hits!!!

2) Yes
3) Not sure, but I would assume so
4) With some modification, probably
5) Not sure
6) Yes, you can modify their post count
7) I heard of one before, but have no idea about the details to it

7. Note that the EZBoard import is for posts only, not members.

Does the EzBoard import work through the public interface?

I realize it picks up the postings, but does it include:

the structure,
the dates,
the polls,
etc

Does anyone have an example of an imported EzBoard?

This really isn't a huge deal, but I would like to keep some of the stuff we have over there...

Thanks everyone!
