This forum impresses me more than any other forum on the web, because of its content, the people, and the discipline and maturity of every member--there is no spam whatsoever!

The only think it lacks is the creativity allowed for members, because really..there is little. So how about allowing the members to have 1 image signature? Doesn't that sound fair? Set a size on them, I'm sure most of use being webmasters have great imaging experience, as seen on Yaxay.com. Most of the signatures on Yaxay.com are awesome, all very elite looking. So why not liven things up around Vbulletin.org and allow each member 1 image in the signature? I'm sure things wont slow down at all. ;)
Cast your vote on what you think.

I personally would love to have images in our sigs.

Not so much "images", just an signature image--you know, 70x500 or something? It would allow us to express ourself more on the forum ;)

I dont really have much of a preference one way or another, but I am leaning on the side of having an image.

There is nothing that stops you now from using images in your signature...

Ah come on Nakkid, thats boring, surely you've been to another forum other than vbulletin.org--they all have sigs! The avatar just isn't enough creativity for some people :( Ofcourse signatures don't have to be big at all, there can be a limit. I prefer smaller 61x500 signatures ;)

Anyway, I'm gonna check this out then if Firefly says were able to use sigs...

edit:

HTML code is OFF
vB Code is ON
[*img] code is OFF
Smilies are ON

Looks like its off Firefly :(

Actually, the trail of dots behind Firefly's last post just means he's playing because indeed you can have an image in your signature, but it will only take the form of a link as you presented :(

Actually, the trail of dots after my post merely means I'm a dot-fanatic... I don't know why, I just leave "trails of dots" after my messages.

"I just leave "trails of dots" after my messages."
I think i also have this desease ....

just a question: why do you decide to change it to allowed when only 9 people (5 yes,4no) have voted?

I prefer smaller 61x500 signatures ;)that's huge. first of, there are people (myself) who use 800x600 windows for IE. a 500px picture will ruin all the forums. until now, i never used avatars, image or html code. first, for database size, then for SECURITY, esthetics and equality. images in sigs take more time to load the page, create more work to admins and mods, etc. plus nobody follows the rules for the size. look at xelation. his size is to big, still he posted in firefly's announcement that he will arange it co correct that issue. that's because we have educated users here.

everyone is entitled to have an oppinion. my personal opinion is that showing off the cool graph you ripped from some other artist is not a way to be cool (most people do this, rip some logos they like and stamp their name or site on it) or to make cooler your post... but that's me with my impossible logic.

i hope nobody will percieve this as offending because i simply state my dislikes. everyone is free to add his(her) sig the best way. i personally like my new clean sig. :alien: :)

So just turn off sigs in your user cp and you dont have to see them.

Velocd

Exactly ;)

*jumps for joy that [img] in sigs is now enabled*

Thanks Firefly ^_^

Whoops, I switched the dimensions width and height, I didn't mean to say 350x70 ^_^

cprompt. that isn't a good argument.
becaus turning off the sig completly doesn't allow you to se usefull text, like hack s.o has released or such...

it think an option to turn off imgs would then be a good compromise

Velocd

Thus a perfect idea for somebody, perhaps Nakkid, to create a hack that allows users to choose an option in their usercp to ignore [img] tags in signatures ;)

Wasn't intended to be an argument. It was an option. ;)

Good idea, I'll see what I can do about this.

// Edit: Can't you already turn off [img] tags from the User CP? For posts and signatures...

LOL!

And here I have been thinking for the past 5 months of me being here that you just didn't allow [img] signatures ;)

You know you can just do eval('$Velocd instead of eval("\$Velocd... ;)

yeah, but the and is the hard thing.
The imagecode in normal posts i want to have on, its usefull, but in sigs i want to turn it off.

personally it doesn't hurt so much, my bandwith is strong enough, but i really don't like images in sigs, especially when custom avatars are enabled.
but like nakkid thats just my opinion, you're the boss chen ;)
