I've been around for quite a while, but never published my site here.

Take a look at 4aDrive.Com (http://www.4adrive.com). All of the site is writting in Java Servlets, except for the forum (vBulletin). The portal is done via Java Servlets too, but as you can see it is integrated tightly with the forums. News, polls, and obviously latest threads are pulled directly from the vb database.

Anyways, check out the site, tell me what you like, and don't like. :)

Nice site, but the portal page (the one you linked to) is very cluttered.

I believe that being a portal its main use is to give people access to the most vital parts of the site from there, so they don't have to go searching. And I think it does it pretty good.

Site consists of 2 main sections: a photo gallery, and a forum. The latest updates from the either section are well represented on the main page.

I like the forums, the colors flow well together, and everything is cohesive. the only suggestion I have to to takt out the rollovers... they're always an annoyance IMO.
