If I create a new style, will it include the template hacks which I have applied to my standard style?
Also are there any sites that give example templates and which show what each section does?
I really like the look of the default style on this site, is it downloadable so I can use the layout and change the colours / images for my site?

If you want to keep the templates of ure current style when u create the style:
Let it use the template set you are using for your current (default style)...
BUT
make sure it "Creates a new replacement set"...
if you dont make sure the replacement set it set to new then you will lose all your current colors of the original style...
if you do that all your current hacks will remain and be on the new style u create as well...
hope that helps :D

Hmm, but when I did this, it simply didn't create templates at all???
I want to have my current setup, with hacks etc.
Then I want a second style, with custom colours, and a seperate set of templates (including my custom templates, and hacks) which I can play with, without messing up the default set.
SO really, I want an exact duplicate of my current setup, and to keep my curent setup as a backup.

Ok, think I sorted it. I exported the style. Edited the vbulliten.style file (changed 3 instances of Default on the first line to Default2), and imported. Looks to have worked ok, shouldn't create any issues should it?
Here's a question that may go with this topic...
I'm using a custom style in my forums, but want to install vBPortal, and it wants to use its own style.
Is there a way to install vBPortal where it will use the style in the forums? Or do I need to re-write the style to fit vbPortal?

With vBPortal, you need to upload the default style included with it first and set it to the default style. Afterwhich you will need to re-edit the template files to re-obtain your previous style.

How do I apply a style to the whole site? I don't allow users to select their own styles.

Overwrite the "Default" style with the style you want everyone to view.

Ok, just another little question now. Sorry to be a pain!
I have been looking at www.digital-forums.com for inspiration, I really like their layout.
How do I list Forums in different sections/boxes e.g. Information, New Members etc etc
And, I have managed to move the 'Moderated by:' to the forum description cell, and remove the Moderators Col at the end. How do I tell it to only display 'Moderated by:' if there is a moderator set for that forum?
* PBC sighs...
Now, if we had vBCMS, I wouldnt have to edit the template file...
*cough*hint*cough*
