Sub-Category Links in Category Desc.

I asked over on vBulletin.com and they suggested I ask the question here, so...

On SitePoint (http://www.sitepointforums.com) they have the sub-categories linked to in the category descriptions. I cannot do that with the limited (250 char) desc field.

Can anyone share the code to this hack?

Hmm. I diligently searched using about 10 different combinations and didn't find the hack I'm looking for. I found some useful hacks, just not the one I'm after.

Sub-Category Links -- no results
Links in Description -- several results, none that do what I want
sub-category links in description -- no results
etc.

Does anyone know what the hack's name might be? Or even where it might be located?
