I do half my work on my board from work (shh) and its on a MAC. This causes some problems because it seems all the hacks I download

A) save as Attachment.php instead of the real name. No big whoop, i just rename it after download

B) all the hacks have extra characters at the begining of each line. Example:
[] $users=$DB_.....

I don't know if that will show up here (it didn't), but every line of a hack or code in general has a little box (looks like []) character in front of it. Which basically causes general mayhem.

Im sure there is someone else out there using a Mac and Vbulletin, have you found a work around?

(And if your answer is "Use a PC"... save your typing and move along)

Thanks!

When I download hacks they all come over with the correct files names, like keep_attach_on_preview.txt. What browser are you using to d/l the hacks? I Run my board, hack my board, administer my board right from my iBook. What text editor are you using? Don't use SimpleText to edit, try BBEdit.

Thats wierd. Im using IE 5.1 and have had this problem in all versions of IE. If i hold click on a file and "Download to disk" it automatically names it Attachment.php. I get the same results if I use the browser Opera as well.

I opened a hack I downloaded in BBedit and it looks great. Thanks for the tip!

Yea, IE tends to do that and SimpleText is crapola. I switched to Mozilla. IE is too damn slow, and a huge resource hog. All the attachments I d/l with Moz come across with the correct file names. BBEdit is the best.

BBEdit is the clear answer to all your code-editing problems.

and I've found the same problem with IE, it naming all downloads attachment.php and whatnot, and like Smoothie, switched to Mozilla.
