Not tested on 2.2.6 yet, but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work... Anyway...

Let's say you only got 3 usergroups (admins, mods, members) because you don't want to go through the hassle of manually upgrading members. But of yourse you want your contributing long-time users to have something new members don't... In this case, more private discussion forums.
With this hack you may set qualifiers for your forums that your members need to reach in order to participate. This can be registration time, number of posts, or both. If a member qho doesn't qualify tried to access a restrited forum he gets to view the nopermission page, if he does qualify he won't notice any difference.
The options are set on the forum permissions page in the Admin CP. This hack does not add any additional queries.
