Well, I run an okay-sized Lord of the Rings site. It's been up about 5 months and we recently broke the 1,000 user mark. Not huge, but good activity and really good dedication among the user base.

We've recently added a whole slew of features including the new Image Gallery, as well as several hacks from this very site which users are playing around with and generally loving.

I had to modify a tonne of the hacks (learn PHP, I'm an ASP'er) so it was a good day of learning yesterday :) Thanx to everyone so far for their help and you never know, I may one day release my own first hack :)

Nice design, nice links. :) Just change the On/Off images on the main page. :)

No, in the forums. The Locked icon is purple.

I think you should look into limiting the size of your member's sigs... IMO...

Yeah, well that's one of the things I'm doing, but it can't be done overnight. I've already limited the siggies to once per page which has cut down MASSIVELY, and I've already announced "Siggie D-Day" next Thursday at which point I'll cut them all down to under 20 lines.

The problem being that because it is an artsy community with so much sense of community I don't want to lose anything in this transition, hence my Journal Hack request :)

You could simply go into the Forum Home section of the Options and tell it not to show locks. Would take 5 seconds to change and you wouldn't need a new graphic.

Just thought I'd mention, I really, really like the way your postbit thing is set up! I'm not a huge fan of LOTR but I like this a lot better than the other, more popular LOTR site I've seen.

Wow @ wayne, thank you so much. I guess I truly am new to this :) I was simply going to replace the off.gif with on.gif, but this also works :)

Michael, there are more popular Lord of the Rings communities?! *L* Not to be rude, but I haven't actually seen that many bigger LOTR communities around :)

I knew there were larger LOTR sites out there, but TOR isn't a larger forum system, it's probably one of the largest information sites out there though :)
