I have the eirc hack getting ready to install. But I need a channel for my chatroom. I read about having to have a server or something...but my host cant put an IRC server on for me or whatever....Can I just get a channel from somewhere else for free maybe...I am only needing something simple...I dont need a ton of features....

You can go to any existing IRC network and register a channel for free. That's if they have CServices which most do. It takes about 5 seconds. You will also have to register a nickname which is also a 5 second task. You can use any popular shareware irc client like www.mirc.com
