Download System?

Is there a way to incorporate a auth-check on a user in the VB database when they try to download a file? The files can be manually uploaded, I just want to limit the people that grab it.

Also, if I wanted to make a template that included the downloads, is there a FAQ on template creation anywhere I could grab?

This is a normal user group permission. Just set 'Can download attachments' to 'no' for any groups you don't want to have access to downloads.
