Fairly simple hack though I'm not real sure how cross-browser the javascript will be...
The bane of all forums are the threads with generic subjects like "help" or "need assistance".
Although impossible to prevent all generic subjects, this hack provides a gentle reminder that all users must look at when starting new threads. New threads have a "Please use descriptive thread titles!" in the subject line and additional javascript forces users to utilize a different thread title.
For my board I only require a subject for a thread starter and not necessarily replies, so there is no modifications for the reply template. I'll do this later.
Thanks to Creole from sitepointforums.com for the inspiration for this hack.
Although I will do what I can to provide support, my time is limited and I cannot guarantee support for this. ;)
