vSite version 0.5b

Should I release this? I developed it a few months ago for my site; however, development has stalled due to my lack of time. So instead of sitting on my ass with this, if anyone is interested in it I will package and release this hack. So far there is only a news system, but there was also a content/article system that was being developed. Perhaps during the summer I will be able to complete this. This hack is currently a homepage/news hack for vBulletin. It is completely integrated with vBulletin--meaning that it is 100% template driven, 100% permission compatibility (special messages displayed if there is a lack of permissions; similar messages if news form is empty and what not), 100% admin control pannel controlled, and the list goes on. It took me a lot of effort to minimize the amount of queries and still maintain functionality. As far as I am concerned, this hack is bug free, apart from any bugs that may be in the vBulletin codebase.

Here are a bunch of screenshots that will explain it far better than my words:

please don't think of me as an ass but from the pics all I see is the forums just rearranged. Sorry if I sound like an ass but I really don't see the importance of this hack.

How do you store news? In a forum, or in a separate table?

I looks good, but there are a few other hacks out there that do the same, vBhome, vBindex for example.

I like the admin options though, makes it alot easier to change the variables.

I say why not release it, it allows users to select which hack they want to use.

And like sparks says, I guess it pulls the news from a forum?

Does the hack "re-use" alot of the origional vB's index.php code?

Yeah that's what I was thinking--it has already been done. Yes from a specified forum. I forgot to post a screen shot of that. And there is pretty much an complete rewrite of the code.

Here's the screenie for that:

If I release it, it will take a while for me to make installation guidelines and package all the changes.
