Text Ads

Has anyone worked out a mod that would allow a small text add to be interted between posts? Thinking that it would be based on the number of posts in a specific thead; if the post has more than three but less than 9 it inserts 1 random/related text ad between posts 3 and 4, but if it has more than 9, then a single line text ad between 3 and 4, as well as 7 and 8, etc. etc.

Always thought single line text ads in between posts to be the least obtrusive.

i know you can do this via just a simple template edit, but it would put it in each post
