well this is my first release for a vBulletin hack and it is only v1.0 and it is completlety bug free. This hack should work on any vBulletin version from 2.03-2.25 as it only requires 2 file uploads and 2 template edits. All the instructions and needed files are included in the zip file and copyrights go to macromedia for the clock that is used.

*******
UPDATE
*******
1. Fixed some writing that was left behind from previous install.
2. Fixed some things that the install said were there but weren't.

Enjoy!

I'm interested in the hack for "Unanswered Threads". Where can I find it?

to do this in the install file where it says:

************************************************** *****
1. Create a called template 'clock_swf' and paste the following as the content:
************************************************** *****

<OBJECT width=(desired width)(450 is good) height=(desired height)(300 is good)><PARAM NAME="Sitename Forums Flash Clock" VALUE="http://www.youraddress.com/forums/Clock.swf">
<embed src="http://www.youraddress.com/forums/Clock.swf" width="(desired width)(450 is good)"
height="(desired height)(300 is good)"></embed></OBJECT>

************************************************** *****

just put the following code in the forumhome template:

<OBJECT width=(desired width)(450 is good) height=(desired height)(300 is good)><PARAM NAME="Sitename Forums Flash Clock" VALUE="http://www.youraddress.com/forums/Clock.swf">
<embed src="http://www.youraddress.com/forums/Clock.swf" width="(desired width)(450 is good)"
height="(desired height)(300 is good)"></embed></OBJECT>

you just gotta edit the link to the SWF file and change the sizes :)

awesome hack. We need more Flash/vbulletin hacks. It's great because you can scale the flash usually with no unwanted problems.

ok then.......go to:

http://www.thugnature.net/forums/clock.php

firewars
06-09-2002, 06:43 AM
That gives me an empty page with the HTML code:

<!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: clock -->

<!-- END TEMPLATE: clock -->

..I'm gonna upload the flash itself to see what it is like then ;)

firewars

Here we go.
This is what the clock looks like itself:

Code improvements making the installation easier:

I have changed the code a bit making the installation easier (you don't have to change that many values, you still can, of course).

clock_swf template

I changed:

<OBJECT width=(desired width)(450 is good) height=(desired height)(300 is good)><PARAM NAME="Sitename Forums Flash Clock" VALUE="http://www.youraddress.com/forums/Clock.swf">
<embed src="http://www.youraddress.com/forums/Clock.swf" width="(desired width)(450 is good)"
height="(desired height)(300 is good)"></embed></OBJECT>

into

<OBJECT width=450 height=300><PARAM NAME="$bbtitle Flash Clock" VALUE="$bburl/Clock.swf">
<embed src="$bburl/Clock.swf" width="450"
height="300"></embed></OBJECT>

and thus making the script automatically know the URL to the board.

Here it is installed and not fitting my forums style nor being centered.
Nice hack, though.
