Auto lowercase? WTF is going on?

OK I type About: in a post and it appears as about: I take away the ":" and it goes back to About. I go back and add the ":" and it goes back to lower case.

Can somebody please explain why my board is doing this, and how I get it to quit trying to change the case of my words.

Remove these two lines from functions.php:
"/about:/si",
and "about :",
(appear two times each)
