not necessarily, i was thinking more of drop down menu's / standard selections (yes/no) (MON/TUE/WED/etc), and the actual message box being a much smaller field for a short comment

Ever figure it out? I got it so I can get the fields into the database (thread and post) but I can't get it to be shown in showthread.php.
You know how?

You need to edit the showthread template, and include text boxes in it, then you need to edit showthread.php to get the information from the database...you will then need to get the newreply.php and newthread.php files to insert the information you put in the text boxes into the database...

no, theres normally no need to edit showthread.php when you've added the fields to threadtable.
just edit showthread template add a $threadinfo[fieldname] where you like it..
I wish it were that simple, however, I tried it and it didn't work. Can anyone walk me thru this? I just don't understand any of the database queries or anything in showthread.php..
Thanks.
