Custom user titles based on usergroup

I know this must be posted somewhere... but I can't find it :(

I know there's gotta be a simple hack to members.php to allow only certain usergroups (not just admins and mods) to use custom user titles. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I agree that this would be a beneficial hack for my group. Perhaps the Display custom titles AND standard titles in posts (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34968) hack might be a starting point? That way you're avoiding the built-in security of the ACP setting and can just specify which usergroups can even see that option. JAT.
