<i>i hope this is the right place to post this.</i> {i've also posted this on the vBulletin.com site}

i represent a client who wants to find about the following.

1. is there an option on vBulletin or in the hacks section to have the latest 20/10 topics displayed in a frame or called through php include.

2. is there an option in the hacks section to have, and access level for users of a certain status to browse a sub folder , i'm thinking .httaccess here ?
like putting the hashed passwords in .httpasswd file automatically

if these 2 things are available/could be done , i think my client will go for this.

http://www.vbulletin.org/hacks/index.php?s=&action=showhack&hackid=291

for the security bit

http://www.vbulletin.org/hacks/index.php?s=&action=showhack&hackid=220

last question i promise

the problem as i see it would be differentating between those that could post on the message board and those that could see a special directory of pages. { i think this is what my client wants }.

would this be possible you think ?

i couldn't see a hack for this .

you can use an apache module called mod_auth_mysql, you can configure within a .htaccess file to check the username / password combination against details in a database. This being the vBulletin one and it allows it still to be encrypted.
