counters being updated, yet i am not updating them?

here is the deal.

i deleted a few post before i knew the total post count would change.

so i ran a query to raise the total post count (with the help of a cool guy from vb.com)

then i noticed that only in one of the forums, the count would drop back down. so i ran the query and raised them back up, then they dropped down again. so i ran the query , and it has been fine since.

my question is, why did this happen? is someone running a comand somehow updating just that one forums post count based on the actual database some how?

what could of caused this?

come on fellas, please help me. is there anyway my counters are being updated automatically? and why only for one forum? i have like 6 forums open (general, pictures, members info, rules etc etc) and only under my main forum, general forum is this happening? why...

is there any url a person could put in that would make my counters update? or is there something on the server end i need to make them aware of so this wont happen?
