I just got out of the vb.com forums where, quite franky, I've pretty disgusted with the fact that people are complaining that Jelsoft is updating vBulletin too much.

It just doesn't make a lot of sence to me, I have a hacked board, I know how difficult upgrading can be, but IMO, you learn to deal with it.

When you have a forum that is as heavly viewed, and as semi-popular as mine, and many others here, security is the number 1 priorty. I had a visitor take advantage of the very same security whole that v2.2.5 patches. I realize that it takes time to upgrade, especially with a hacked board, but the way I see it is, I'd rather spend a couple hours upgrading than a have to install my backups because someone hacked my board, or worse yet -- have to start all over.

Couldn't agree more. Then again, I could be considered biased. :)

There are some people over there that can make reading the forums painful. It's a real shame. The vB team does a great job and it gets old seeing the same people jumping all over them all the time.

I do :) It took me around an hour and a half to upgrade, although if I had been doing it the right way from the beginning it wouldn't have taken me near as long. But I havn't slept more than 4 hours each night the last two weeks, so I'm a bit slow thinking these days.

That's true... I have a highly hacked board and those upgrades like 2.2.5 hurts me a lot.

I use something similar to araxis merge, but it's still a pain to upgrade a lot of files...
