navbar immediately below header image

I've seen it on other forums, and I tried searching here for more information, with no luck.

What I'd like to do is put the navbar immediately below the main header image, instead of the links to the control panel, calendar, and so on. I tried hacking it, by copying the navbar template into the header template, but it didn't work.

This seems like a simple hack, and one that's probably been posted here. (Unfortunately, looking for "navbar" didn't help.) Any ideas?

yes.. copy the links in the navbar template to where they go to.. then in header set up what you would like it to look like then you have it.
