FWIW this problem isn't happening on either of my two essentially non-hacked forums.

Hrmmm... thanks, Smachol. There isn't a directory that we need to have chmodded properly in order for uploads to occur, right?

I've been able to upload just fine via the control panel, but not via the EDIT PROFILE feature from the main boards.

According to http://www.vbulletin.com/manual/avatars.html -

Technical Note: All avatars that are uploaded to vBulletin by the administrator are stored directly on the web server hard disk drive. Custom avatars uploaded by users are stored in the MySQL database.

This wouldn't have anything to do with it, would it?

FireFly, could it be the modifyavatar template?

I'll paste you mine (not modified):

The upload avatar function doesn't work neither from the Admin CP.

Attachment uploads work fine.

Thanks for the help.
