View Full Version : [teaser] vBDesk - vB integrated HelpDesk

Coming Soon! It will be fully integrated with vBulletin and its db. I may wait to release it until vB3 comes out and I can make any necessary changes.
Currently there are no plans to change any php files, except the AdminCP navigation frame, because vBDesk will have its own php files. It will be modeled after PerlDesk (http://www.perldesk.com) but coded in PHP and with the first release it will not have all the features that I plan to include. I will post more shortly (the features list, maybe some screen shots).

Well, it probably won't be out until vB3, but then I'll have time to add the other features.
It will be free as long as the footers (with link to my site's script area) are left there, or you can pay to remove them. (not sure on price). I'll post updates as I go along. Now I'm going out for the day. Bye.
[add]
I may release at the least a beta version before vB3, but I'm not sure how much I'll have to change, once vB3 is out (eg. database stuff, etc.) I'm working on the part that allows Mods/Admins to set a post only visible by Mods/Admins, so a user can't see it. Shouldn't take very long. Bye now.

Attached is the current features list.
Differences:
I'm working on the posts viewable only by Admisn/Mods, but It says a note box. That will probably change.

Have you been making progress on this hack?
I'm looking to install perldesk, but if you make something comparable....then for sure I would use that instead!

This hack, has been delayed. When finished it will have a PerlDesk importer, as that is used by many sites at the moment. I have been very busy, but I still haven't past my deadline, I said when vB3 is released, though it may not be until a bit after that. I also haven't been around much, so sorry it took so long to reply.
Addendum: It should have most, if not all of the features of the current stable PerlDesk, when the vBDesk code is stable.
Cool. But when it release it.. give it a more dynamic name than just vbDesk >___<

I would actually take out edit own post, after the ticket has been answered by an admin.
I would also suggest integrating this into the UserCP, Trouble Ticket System meets a users personal need, so it can be more unique, and more logical to be used within the Users CP.
Also I wouldn't make its own control panel, make an admin file that can be linked through the admin, and when listing the tickets have it list like this.
Qued Tickets:
Name of Ticket: Catagory
*I have to go out urgently, when I get back I will finish this post*

I read this on his website.
