Do any of you know of the EZboard PW per forum ?

If not:

When making a forum you have a choice to make it Private and place a PW on it. If there is a PW on it you must Log in to view the contents and any sub forums. There is an option of a cookie to the local client so that they do not have to relog in all the time. The Mod of the forum can change the PW at will.

This would be a great add-on to VB in IMHO

You can make hidden forums and only allow certain usergroups (which you can add users to custom usergroups too) to view/post to/search/etc. them.

I understand that ... doing it now ... but its a pain in the A$$ to do that with 12,000+ members .. where a PW sent from the MOD of the forum to all the members allowed in that forum would be a lot easyer.

I host a forum for gamers. Each clan has their own Priv. forum .. there are 80 clans with 25-80 players. They get new members and drop them all the time. Its a full time job changing access. :disappointed:

Peace.

yeah but the problem with passwords on forums is one of the users can send the password to people who are not meant to. Then they can view them and post. where as with usergroups it cuts down on that unless the person lets them use there own account.
