Well here's my first hack and a rather simple one =)

Not much involved in setting up the hack but it is my first and i think that its a good hack to have on any board

Its been tested on the 2.2.4 and 2.2.1 versions and should work on all the 2.2 versions but to work on the earlier version such as the 2.0.3 coding needs to be changed.

Either way please enjoy its features are explained in the attachment... basically it just adds more admin cp options =D

I'm not sure about this, but i don' tthink this is a hack. It's just adding options in the admin/index.php file that do nothing to edit the forums whatsoever. I may be wrong . .

vivi, you are correct. this is not a hack. a hack involves editing of the php code (queries, arrays, etc). gforce2001, in the future, place this kind of mods into the General Discussions with a thread opener like: "add more links to your admin panel". the title you chosed: "Extra Admin CP Addons 1.0", is totally unapropriate, you didnt add any hacked addon in there.

find:

makenavselect("Statistics & Logs","<hr>",$df);

Under that add:

save and reupload it into the admin folder and thats all enjoy...

looks like editing the php code to me =P

Stop complaining people, be glad he was willing to share it. Gosh. All this ranting on about things doesn't do anybody no good.

It is an alternation, modification of any code, being PHP file, template, whatever, which makes it qualify as a hack. I seriously do not see the problem.

Ok guys it may not seem a incredibly advanced or complicated hack but its a hack none the less. Its editing the php files and therefore this qualifies as a hack.

Next time i will do more... as i stated this was my first and a rather simple one... and yes sure it was editing only just one php file... but nonetheless... an admin cp has not templates therefore none to be edited... and no vb queries were needed... since the hack makes the nav option and inserts it... sure its simple... yet i thought it would be a great help for ppl... the reason i released it... no i know im not an expert hacker just a beginning learning... but thanks to those who thought of it useful i certainly did... thats why i released it ;) hope that helps and for those that don't think it is a hack no biggy... next time i'll try doing more... but as i stated its an addition to the admin cp thats all ^.-

Its not about the hack using lots of complex functions as long as the hack does what you planned to do via whatever means.

yip same way for all mods

/forums/mods/index.php

however u would require a query to check wether or not is smod if allow, which might make things a little harder..
however it is not too difficult to to simply copy /forums/mods/index.php to supermod3charshere.php

eg
supermod126.php

and then change the references in other files related to supermods to that... instead... or just give them direct link... which is easier still :)

still not 100% sure if that what u wanted to know..

as vb devel chap said. ANY file modification is a hack (unless just template  ie remmed out or /*

remmed out section or xtra spaces :)

if nothing to say that is constructive about a persons hack, when the hack does what it is suppossed to do. no1 should moan. think of it this way.. some1 posts a damn nice hack, and several peeps Moan bout it, will that hacker feel welcome to post another sweet hack? the answer is he will not feel as inclided to post. peeps should think b4 posting extremely negative comments. :)
