as you will all probably know, vbulletin has just released the newest version of vb
i currently use 2.23 and have 2.20 installed on my site
there are countless members like myself who have 2.20, 2.21,2.22 and have installed dozens of hacks
reinstalling these hacks would be a real pain
can anyone reccomend any software (preferably free) where i can compare all the files and only change the code which needs changing
this would make upgrading as easy as installing one of vbulletin.org's fine hacks (suke, suke!!)
cheers ,
fonz

So why not pay the devoloper a few quid (money well spent) and buy a license for it.

Buy Araxis Merge. It's worth every nickle! I'm just done upgrading this site (well, updating the files that is) and this program really made it easier. Much better than Beyond Compare because I don't believe the latter can automatically insert the code change into the files.

I use a Mac, and BBEdit can do merges and all fairly well. It'll let you compare the differences before the changes are done, too.

i use also araxis merge. i rate it 10+... and i would say is worth every penny, a nickel is to low as value for the time you save and the precision you work with the files. ;)
