I would love someone to find away to detect the users real ip address, rather than their proxy server. Programs like multiproxy allow users to connect through hundreds of proxy servers, but even on their faq they admit a persons real ip address can be found using javascripts. So unless a persond disables java, which is agrivating not to have java, you can get their ip..

Q: I have found a couple of sites which seem to somehow be able see through the MultiProxy shield and detect my correct IP address. Why?

A: These sites most probably use Java or ActiveX applets/scripts to detect your IP address. And since these applets run on your local machine, proxy server will not protect you. The only way is to disable Java and ActiveX controls in your browser.

So if their was a way to keep track of their proxy and real ip and a way to ban their real ip that would be great! Just a idea...

That wouldnt work for 99.9% of the proxy servers in use. You will just get the ip of the proxy server.

Actually yes it would. Remember that scripts and Java applets are local, not remote. In theory a script/applet can read the systems IP address and send it to the remote web server.

Problem with banning IP addresses though is most of them are dynamic. Users that use the same ISP as the banned soul might lose access if they happen to get the banned IP address. You can block the whole ISP subnet, but that's a little harsh in my book.
