Attachments ONLY in specific forums

I was hoping for a hack that would allow the admin to specify forums for uploading attachments.

In other words, having the option to confine attachment uploads to only one forum, (or more if desired).

That way, you could have a specific forum named "Photos" for example, where all photos could be uploaded.

At the moment, allowing attachments is universal, but it would be great to have in the "Edit Forum: Posting Options" area an option called "Allow Attachments," and when posting a new reply or a new thread, the "Attach file:" row would only appear if that forum was set to allow attachments.

Also, it would be a big help to have a more obvious notification feature when someone uploads an attachment that needs moderation, maybe like the PM blinking bar, or a popup that would only be visible to admins or moderators, with a link to the attachments in need of moderation.

ok, I know this is a tall order, but this is the request forum, after all, and I've seen some pretty great hacks produced.

btw - To all the developers, thanks so much for all the hacks here. They're great and they add a new dimension of fun to the whole vBulletin experience. Very very cool and generous of y'all!

There is no hack you need, this one is the AdminCP!

Modify custom forum settings and moderate attachments. Thats all. :cool:

Glad to hear this option exists, but I'm not able to locate custom forum options for some reason.

Create a new set of templates and remove the upload field from the new thread and reply templates. When you set up your forums, you choose whether you want it to have the template that allows uploads or not.

In your AdminCP -> User Groups -> Forum Permissions
There you can give rights for each forum to each usergroup

Still, would be cool to have a hack that sent a PM to moderators (or to admins) notifying that there is a new attachment to be moderated.

That's a good idea, but would entail a lot more work than the CP method.

Either way, better documentation for vB would be helpful.
