Top referrer + top referrer website in forumhome. How?

We already asked this @ vbulletin.com, and it seems that it would need some kind of hacking, so we'll just copy-paste the thread we created there :) Here it is:


Hello everyone! :)

We would like to know if there is any way to show the top referrer in forumhome, and also top referrer's homepage :)

We are encouraging our users to post their referrer link in their websites, so we would love to thank them by placing something like this in our forumhome:

Our top referrer is xxxx from www.theirurl.com!!

Where www.theirurl.com would be the url this user has in his/her profile :)

Would it be possible without hacking?

I guess u can use this: $ref[homepage] to show the website of that user aswell .....in your forumhome template

And just to make it totally perfect. Would it be possible to allow the user to specify the name of his site so in his/her profile it would be something like this:

Homesite: My homesite (www.blahblahblah.com)

This way, you would see something like this in your forumhome:

About the name of the website, u cant display it with that hack. U have 2 make some modifications in the register.php file and add a new row into the user table and more..

U can also easily link it like:

<a href="$ref[homepage]">$ref[username] Website</a>

So its like: Lesane's Website <- with a link to lesane's website.

Optional ofcourse ;)
