I think he means a user name and password box will popup like when you try to enter your admin CPanel in your website. Sort of a replacement for the login.

.htaccess will disallow a user to enter a directory with out specifying there logins... so for example the user will have to register to view a site within one of the folders etc...

How could this hack work ?
1) You check unencrypted (md5) passwords against vb db.
2) .htaccess locks the access to the directory at a level below the application you tried to bypass it. That could work ONLY if the passwords are exactly the same, put there both by hand.

Ermm I place a hack for this in the beta forum and it works just fine :) it works on all php files.
