Hi there,
i´m searching for a hack like the installed hack in that board.
I need only a button on the first Post in a thread, where the user click on it to say"thankyou" for this Post. The Users, who clicked on this button, must not replying to this thread, to say "thankyou". He only click on the button, that ist. And the threads would be very small...
The poster of this thread are now be able to see, who many people say "thankyou" to this thread.
I don´t want to use the Voting for this Feature!
Is here any hack on this board, where i can make this Feature?
Please help me, and sorry for my bad english...

sorry for my bad english, i don´t want to hide any content in a thread. I know, what the lockdownhack do.
I need a hack for a thread, were a user make a click on a button, to say to the poster "Thankyou". Nothing else.
I don´t like threads with 100 or more post, where the peoples only write down "Thanks..."
I also read the announcement in that section, this i not my style.
Please help me to make this hack possible.

The fact they can post here proves that they are listed in the name list for liscenced members within the vB members area, therefore I'll make this hack as soon as I get time.
Thought I have to say it sounds like an automated thank you hack, though the hack won't do anything special, just simply post a new post saying thank you. Not give them access to anything else.
You guys were all too quick to jump to conclusions just because it sounded like a lock down hack.

It took me 2min to do this, it dont have much options but it will do the trick. It will display a "thank you" button in the thread if you are logged in and when you press it will make a reply with the message "Thank you". I used the quick reply hack and modified it.

Thank you for your work, thats a beginning....
...but this Hack makes also new repleys to the threads!
My vision is: The "Thankyou" Button of a Thread is only shown on the first post.
By clicking on it, the script put the Member-Name and a Thank-You-Information at the bottom in this first post.
Thats it.
I hope for helpfull Requests

I think he is saying he needs a hack which will have a button, say next to the "reply" button in a thread, that sayes "give thanks" or something of that nature. When they press that, it auto replies with "thank you" instead of having users to type it in a new reply. I can see why this may be good for boards that say, display deals for products and alot of people reply with thank you.
So I could click thank you, and it would add my reply with the words "thanks" to the message.
Oh and just a suggestion for the creator of this thread, why not go to say.. babelfish, and translate from your native language to english, so that way you can be more detailed and have a more accurate description of what you need. Check out babelfish at http://babelfish.altavista.com (it is a free translator that will let you type in your language and output it to english)

Thanks for the note with Babelfish. Finally someone understood me, what I mean. I want to avoid long Threads and therefore would like I this hack into my board to integrate. (Thats now Babelfish-English)

I have seen this kind of hack somewhere...I can't remember where it was, but I am also in need of it.
To clarify, it works like this:
First, the "Thank You" option needs to be activated for a forum by the admin, just like thread ratings.
Then, at that forum, every first post of a thread has an additional link or button, stating "Thanks for the Post" or something like that.
When a user clicks on it, a line is added to the first post: "The following people are grateful: User1" (or similar).
Afterwards, when another user clicks on it, his name is added to the List: "The follwing people are grateful: User1, User2" (sorted alphabetically), and so on.
So what this hack does, is just preventing the users from posting a reply with only a "Thanks" in it. Instead, they can now thank without posting, and the contributor knows how many people are grateful towards him and who they are.
I hope, this clears things up a bit...now please, can anyone do this?
