Pointer hack

I'm just wondering how difficult it would be to create a hack that lets you put pointers to an article in one forum in any number of other forums, so when a user clicks the pointer link, they're taken to the original article.

This would be incredibly useful for a site like mine that has two dedicated news forums, but separate discussion forums for a variety of topics. It would be great to be able to post a news article, then select forum(s) to automatically have the system place pointers to the news article in.

You could try posting the thread originally in the discussion forum, then move it to the news forum using the move method of leaving a redirect link.

Yeah, but when you've got a busy site with numerous news articles each day, often times being rushed online to beat or compete with the opposition, time is of the essence and that step could become time intensive with a slow 'net connection!
