This is the best polite, unobstructibe way, IMO, to blend advertisements with vbulletin. And it is is paypal compatible too! Simply download the free script (http://textads.sourceforge.net/) and place in your phpinclude. If you have other includes in there, I recommend hardcoding your paths in global.php.

For demo and usage, go here (http://www.haitiwebs.com)

For an attachment on how it looks inside forum, see the third post in here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?threadid=34952)

I downloaded this a few days ago, thought it would be perfect but kept giving me errors about function.php and index.php.. Really pissed me off after setting the database up...

that was very easy to install and to implement with vbulletin. You just have to harcode the paths in vbulletin global.php if you have other includes.

what was your problem? Mine tested fine. I placed a few ads and even placed an order with paypal, then approved it. It displayed as supposed and counted the views and the clicks.

It will only work in php pages. I had problems including with shtml

It is considered "non-intrusive"... in the world of ads, might that also be ineffective?

It might not be as affective, but the user sees it and has the option to click on it or not, effective by means of forcing a user to go to a site seems bad to be, gives the site a bad reputation and since many banner ads,etc are blind hits the user probably has no real interest in the site.
