PM on Delete & Move

I lack these features since vB 1.x, I thought maybe some hackers would be interested in implementing them:

PM On Delete
When you choose delete from the admin options, a page comes (postings.php) to confirm. At the bottom of the page, there can be a textbox added. The one who deletes the thread will write the reason of deleting it in the textbox. When you click on the delete button, it will automaticly send the starter of the thread a PM informing the user why his thread has been deleted. But it should be optional to send a PM or just delete the thread.

PM On Move
The same thing, but it should send a PM to the starter of the thread like: "Your thread X has been moved from forum Z to forum Y"

okay i have a hack like this just about upon completion... so if you can wait a little i'll release it :) as for the moving threads one i think there is one is there not? if not i'll do both... regards...

I use it for a long time, it's nice and stable..

@g-force2k2: If you are working on this hack, dont give up. The hack I mention can be improved in many ways:
a) It does not allow to send PM, it's for email only. Mod can have an option to send either PM or email (or both), or a thread inline message for users who installed your thread pm messages hack.

b) The message sending is mandatory in that hack. You can design so that it's a tick box, selected by Mod and optional

c) You can put the default warning text in the screen Mod takes action and it can be editable while sending

d) The existing hack is for delete and move modification. You can make it work with message edit too..

It sends a PM to the author and can be enabled/disabled with a small checkbox when you are selecting where to move the thread. It's a little old though so I'm sure it can be updated or modified. I've only been using Overgrow's hack for a few days so I haven't gotten many chances to utilize it much yet. :)

I'm using OG's hack and I really enjoy it. It sends the pm from the mod/admin who moved the thread instead of default userid=1 - so that's kinda nice. And it's customizable (of course), and..... the tickbox is nice. :)

Yeah...OG one ROX! But the problem is...it is only for moving...hope someone will make it for deleting threads as well :)
