changing to a different webhost

Hello peoples. I am going to change to a different webhost and I am wondering how I transfer my VB to it.

Oh, and when I download a style it downloads the Replacement set and the Template set right? So then if all of my styles have the same template set and I upload them what will happen? Will I end up with a bunch of template sets with the same name?

The database contains all the styles, including replacement and template sets. Hence when you backup and restore the database, the styles will be included automatically.

I went there, and none of that made any sense. Since I am still working on my board, and it hasn't been released yet, maybe it might be better to just download the styles, and have the staff members re-register. There aren't any posts that I really need.

Sorry, but if that link made no sense than nothing I would say would make any sense either.

Make a backup from your AdminCP and download it. Make sure the backup includes everything.
or 1b.
Use phpMyAdmin to do a dump of the db you use for vBulletin and save it to your computer.
2. Transfer/reupload your vb files to your new server.
3. Use phpMyAdmin and upload your backup/dump file and evrything will be reinserted for you. No need to rerun vb setup either.

Sorry if this is vague, but I found it simple when I did for a friend. Good luck.

(This is kind of easier if your not familiar w/ Telnet or SSH)

Be careful though. Making backups and restoring with phpMyAdmin is notoriously unreliable.

Just don't use phpMyAdmin, unless your backup is like a couple of 100k's (and it's not...).
