Password Complexity requirement option ?

I've been searching around cant seem to find any mention of this yet.

Was thinking this would be a really nice addon... would prevent ppl from signing up with passwords like qwerty, 12345, etc..

Maybe as an option you could set in the admin cp something like:

min #of total characters
min # of numeric characters
min # of alphanumeric characters


My initial thoughts were that this wouldnt be too hard to add. Figured id post about it before I tried anything myself, in case anyone had already done some work on it or in case its going to be alot harder then I think hehe ;)

Would appreciate any comments anyone has on this :)

mind if i bump this? just been searching for some time now and found nothing that has addressed this type of request.

Would it be possible to remove the users ability to manuly enter a password when registering, so they have to hit a random password generator button, much like the script from here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44625&highlight=password+generator)

In addition to this :), current member passwords are automaticly replaced by a randomly generated password in a batch-like proccess to aliminate any existing poorly created passwords :)

Take a look at the Advanced Password hack by Logician, that should meet quite a few of your needs :)
