For anyone familiar with the robust Horde/IMP webmail, I had it integrated with vbulletin. When users create a vbulletin account, they automatically get an email account.

Requirements are:

vbulletin 2.0.3 or higher
php 4.1.1 <--Free
Imap ( courier or cyrus ) <--Free
Mysql <--Free
Qmail <-- Free
Horde 2.0 <- Free
IMP 3.0 <-- Free

PHPauctions (<--was free) is also integrated with imp and vbulletin, but I have no time to debug it at the moment. I might look for a free auction app.

If you're interested, let me know. I might start a website and a mailing list for this so it can be developed further. :( I can't offer any support. So it's for horde/imp and users only or someone with good linux skills and experience in IMAP, PHP and Qmail. The doc I can provide is only for referrence and not instructions.

Check out these links.

I have no affiliation with vbulletin or horde whatsoever. Just someone wanting to share a pretty good hack.

well the auto reply on email was rlsed today, shouldnt it be pretty easy to modify so that users can have their own email adress? if you got a catchall email thingy then you use that script to store all incoming mails in database and users have their own section on the site where they can read the emails that have been sent to username@yourforum.com

OK!

With my mind, that's mean:

1. First thing: Using control panel to create new email address for my user: theirname@myforum.com.

2. Second thing: "script to store all incoming mails in database and users have their own section on the site where they can read the emails that have been sent to their mailbox"

I rent hosting. With first thing, I can do that if my histing is supported by provider. But second thing, I don't know how to do. Can you tell me more? Thanks a lot !

My idea: use private message like mailbox. That's mean : it can receice mails from outside and send mails to outside. Webmail will be plug-in forum. Who can do that ? I hope VBulletin President would like create this hack. However, I duno he can or can't.

Thank all.

IMP is like Hotmail. Not an addon or hack to vbulletin. IMP has no web-based registration module. Only only the server administrator can add new users via telnet. So.... I had the vbulletin registration module modified so it will add new users to both vbulletin and imp mysql database.
